Since 2013, Andrea has worked with the London-based company Haus of Artisans and the NGO Heifer Peru, primarily collaborating on knitwear design and product development for the ‘Sur Andina’ project.
It was a natural step for Andrea to support the development of a project where the empowerment of women artisans was prioritised as much as the development of the collection itself.
She has worked closely with both the company in London and the artisans in the Peruvian Andes on the design development process, and in ensuring the artisan’s creative input and rich skill sets in knitting shine through in the finished work.
MOVING WITH THE WIND
Following the Build Your Worlds event in South London, Andrea joined the art collective Build Your Worlds, who embarked on a collaboration with Turner Contemporary, Margate.
Moving with the Wind opened the exhibition 'Mondrian and Colour' on 24 May, 2014, inviting the public to interact with sculpted landscape, performance and music inspired by the work of Mondrian.
BUILD YOUR WORLDS
In May 2013, Andrea took part in a dance performance / installation, Build Yours Worlds, part of the 'London Life' live art events in South London.
This event formed the art collective Build Your Worlds (BYW), of which Andrea was a member. Driven by the core objective of encouraging participation and community engagement, BYW sought to create new forms of site-specific installation and performance.
