Andrea da Costa has a BA in Textile Design (specialising in knit) from Central Saint Martins, and a jewellery degree from Holts Academy in Hatton Garden. She has worked closely with fashion designers such as Nina Skarra, Reem Alasadi and Lucas Nascimento on knitwear garments, and with the jewellery designer Alexander Davies. She has undertaken live art projects engaging young people from South London in the arts, and collaborated with Haus of Artisans and Heifer Peru on the 'Sur Andina' collection, supporting and empowering female artisans from the South Andes region of Peru.
With deep interests in anthropology and social development, Andrea's work explores the intersection between art, design and craft by considering the object within its surrounding environment. She seeks to use a combined understanding of product development, materials exploration and creative experimentation in a social context throughout her work, and maintains a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and sustainable design.
